Review: Candy Time by Preferred Fragrance: Impression of Honey by Mariah Carey

First I just want to apologize for how long it has been since I have posted on here. It has been a busy few months and I am hoping to get caught up and post more regularly.

So here is another Preferred Fragrance review. So Candy Time is the knock off of one of Mariah Carey’s fragrances from her Lollipop Bling Set. In this set there were three original fragrances all named after 3 of her hit songs. The roller ball set, which I do own, come in the shape of lollipops. Honey is the yellow one out of the set. Honey is exactly as it sounds. It is a very honey like sweet smell. It is probably my second favorite out of the three perfumes from this set.

I was excited to find an impression of this perfume. It comes in a box which reminds me a lot of the box that Honey comes in when you buy a full size bottle. The box has lollipops all over it and is super cute. The full size bottle of Honey comes in Mariah Carey signature perfume bottle which is a round shaped bottle with an adorable butterfly shaped lid. One of the things that I love about this knock off brand is that they try to keep their perfumes in similar packaging to the real perfume. In this case the bottle does not resemble the real bottle at all. However, I will say that I have noticed Preferred Fragrance keeps their Mariah Carey knock offs in the same shaped bottles. These bottles are great quality glass bottles that have a sort of jewel shape. The lids are quite cheap and break easy but are cute as well.

Candy Time definitely has a honey like scent. This perfume is a sort thicker, heavier scent that can be a little much for even someone who is obsessed with sweet fragrances (like me). When I first sprayed it on I did love it but it was so sweet that eventually it became a little too overpowering and got to the point of making me feel a bit sick. One thing for sure is this perfume lasts an extremely long time and you will smell it on yourself all day long. It does not smell identical to the real Honey at all. Other than both having a warmer honey like scent they are quite different. Honey is not as overwhelming and develops more of a perfume like muskiness after worn for a little bit while Candy Time just continues overwhelming you with its tooth hurting sweetness. Also Honey has more of a fruitiness and less of a solid sweetness. I honestly do not smell the fruitiness in Candy Time. It really just reminds me of a very sweet Candy. I do like the smell but it just can be a bit much. You will notice in the notes that they are quite different.
