Review of NY Fashion by Preferred Fragrance; Impression of SJP NYC Sarah Jessica Parker

I am starting off my reviews of the Preferred Fragrance Perfume’s with the very first one that I purchased. It is called NY Fashion. The names of these perfumes are often kind of silly but the quality is amazing for the prices. I will start off by saying that I have smelled the real SJP NYC and to be honest I was shocked at just how similar the smells were. This is basically the point where I became addicted to these perfumes. I was walking through Big Lots when I spotted it and was so excited since I had wanted this perfume for a while but just had never had the budget to be buying things like perfume which is usually pretty low on my list of priorities. To my amazement not only was the smell amazing but it was only $3.50. I figured it was worth it to at least give it a try. Now I did not really know what to expect when it came to how long it would last on my skin but was pleasantly surprised that it last 5-6 hours or more. I find using a good unscented moisturizer on the areas you are applying the perfume really makes a difference on the lasting quality. It also helps if you purchase the actual body lotion which I do have now. It also helps to spray a little on clothing or in your hair (note: perfumes can stain clothing so don’t soak your clothing; the perfume is also not the greatest for your hair but this is just what I do) if you have trouble keeping perfume on your skin like me.

Look wise they bottles are very similar. Even though SJP NYC is a mostly pink bottle and the NY Fashion is red they both have the same sort of idea which is patterns which are supposed to be like fabric all around the bottle. NY Fashion is in a very nice, quality glass container while SJP NYC is in a plastic/tin casing (online it said both so I am not sure which is correct although I remember it being more plastic looking) and has a pull out bottle on the inside. I find I like the look of the packaging for both but the plastic look makes it a bit more cheap looking and the packaging seems like a bit of a waste. Also NY Fashion is 3.3 ounces while SJP NYC’s is a 2 ounce bottle.

Smell wise they are very similar. They both come across to me as very fruity and sweet with a little bit of a muskiness as it wears down. I love the smell but realize fruity, sweet smells are not for everyone. In the future I will definitely be purchasing the real SJP NYC mostly because I am a fan of her. Right now though I will stick with the knock off version as it is a great deal.

Here are the notes for SJP NYC:

Here is the description for NY Fashion from the site:

An opening fruity accord sets the stage for this playful, feeling of freedom, and unlimited possibilities of NYC. Vivacious wild strawberry, mandarin, delicious apple and grapefruit are blended perfectly to intoxicate. Support is garnished with lush gardenia, vanilla absolute, red rose and mimosa. Base notes of sandalwood and oak moss form the tenet of unquestionable style and individuality. $3.99 each

NY Fashion is not associated with the maker SJP

You can find these fragrances at a few places. Family Dollar sells them for $3.00- $3.50. Big Lots sells them for $3. 50 a bottle and also has gift sets. Rainbow shops have them for $4.99 or 3 for $10.00 and has the best selection out of the stores I have been to. They can also be purchased off Preferred Fragrances website http://www.perfumearomatics.com/. They are listed for $3.99 on the site but if you enter the code on the home page you can get the price down to $3.49 but you will be charged for shipping. These fragrances really are great quality and these are definitely my own opinions and I am not at all associated with this company. I will be doing another review very soon so please check back.
